Get to Know Our 2012/2013 Executive Board

President: Merita Nezaj
As President
I am responsible for leading general and executive board meetings. I also go
around making sure that each executive member is following through on their
responsibilities in that chair position. Overall, I am here to make sure
things are running smoothly and correctly. I am Senior studying Communications
and I am from Westchester, NY. I have been on SAA since my freshmen year,
and it was most definitely the best decision I have made at URI. SAA has given
me a strong sense of URI pride, but also experiences and friendship that
are hard to find in other places.
Vice President: Megan Shaffer
As Vice President I am responsible for the recruitment of new members by overseeing the application and interview processes. I am also responsible for the retention of all members of the organization by coordinating the SAA Buddy or "SAAb" program, and planning both a spring and fall retreat for all members of SAA. I am a senior studying Kinesiology here at URI and I am from Rhode Island. I started SAA as a sophomore, and my only regret is that I didn't apply earlier. Being a part of SAA has not only given me an immense amount of pride for our University, but has also given me a family with a bond that I will always hold near and dear to my heart.
